Nineteen percent of Alabamians suffer from food insufficiency.

That's why FOX10 News is teaming up with Volunteers of America for our annual 10 caring gifts food drive.

Our annual food drive is happening today at Greer's Cash Saver on Cottage Hill Road.

You can change a person's life by dropping off a non-perishable food item to any Greer's market in Mobile or Baldwin counties.

Each item goes directly to a family in need this holiday season.

Mobile resident, Ester Payton, said, "I think a lot of people during this time of year need help. I myself needed help some years ago and people helped me out. So I want to try and do my part as well."

Suggested items include things like canned goods, crackers, or cereal.

The food drive ends on Wednesday, December 19th.
