One of the victims shot and killed at a manufacturing facility west of Chicago Friday afternoon was originally from Alabama's Cullman County.
The Cullman Times reports Saturday that Josh Pinkard, a native of Holly Pond, was plant manager at the site of the deadly shootings that police say were carried out by a disgruntled employee who was being fired. Family members told the Alabama newspaper that Pinkard was killed.
Authorities in the city of Aurora, Illinois, have confirmed the shooter, identified as 45-year-old Gary Martin, killed five people when he opened fire at the Henry Pratt Co. manufacturing facility Friday afternoon.
The shooter also wounded others, including five police officers.
The Associated Press reports Saturday that the man who opened fire and killed five co-workers including the plant manager, human resources manager and an intern working his first day at a suburban Chicago manufacturing warehouse, took a gun he wasn't supposed to have to a job he was about to lose.
