JoQuincy McCord

The Prichard man accused of killing his estranged wife and kidnapping their two-year-old daughter is now in custody.

JoQuincy McCord surrendered to Mobile Police around 8 p.m. Tuesday. According to police in Pascagoula, McCord shot and killed the child's mother at Bandywood Apartments around 5:15 p.m. After the girl was reported missing, an Amber Alert was issued by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Police said after the murder in Pascagoula, McCord fled to Mobile and called police to surrender. He was taken into custody at the Chevron at the corner of Grelot Road and University Boulevard.

Mobile Police said the child, Genisis McCord, has been found unharmed and safe.
