A dashcam video image shows an armored truck with a fire on the shoulder of I-10 westbound just outside the Georce C. Wallace Tunnel.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Mobile Fire-Rescue units and Mobile Police responded to a commercial vehicle fire alongside Interstate 10 in Mobile Thursday morning.

It was a Loomis armored truck that had caught fire.

Around 8 a.m., firefighters were working to extinguish the fire -- apparently within the engine compartment or undercarriage of the vehicle.

This was just outside the George C. Wallace tunnel exit on westbound I-10 in downtown Mobile.

Traffic seemed minimally affected, with only one travel lane blocked by fire trucks. The armored truck was alongside the interstate on the shoulder.

A second Loomis armored truck pulled up behind the one that had the fire.

By 9 a.m., an ALDOT camera view showed that the fire appeared to be extinguished.
