BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) -- Baldwin County officials have released the name of a murder victim whose body was discovered Monday at approximately 9:30 p.m. near the Major's Creek Bridge north of Stockton. 

According Chief Deputy Anthony Lowery, the victim has been identified as Skyler Williams. 

A Spanish Fort man, identified as 31-year-old Kendrick Kentrell Patrick, was arrested by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and booked into jail on a murder charge. 

Authorities say on the night of the crime, the sheriff's office was notified of the discovery of the body in Stockton. BCSO deputies responded to the scene where the victim was identified as Williams.

Officials say the victim had been shot in an apparent homicide.

Lowery said they believe the victim was killed in the Spanish Fort area and transported to Stockton.
