Mobile County Sheriff's Office

Both the Mobile Police and Mobile County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating reports on Facebook of women being followed by a van.

One report came from the Semmes area of two men following a woman in store aisles and then being seen in a van.

Another report came from the McCrary Road area where a woman says someone apparently tried to break in her car.

And a third from a woman who says she was followed down Dauphin Street to Theodore.

Authorities are investigating and people at businesses in Semmes say they are keeping an eye out.

Captain Paul Burch with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office said, "We've got some video that we're trying to acquire to possibly identify the operator of the vehicle."

Amy Couey with Southern Fitness on Moffett Road in Semmes said, "We keep employees here the entire time we're open so that our members feel safe in and out."

And Wanda Drop, a customer at Southern Fitness said, "I think that's really frightening. I'm glad that you bright it to my attention. I don't know how i missed it."

Two Facebook posts describe the van as blue.

Authorities say if you see a suspicious vehicle following you, call 911, turn into somewhere safe, and possibly honk your horn or flash your lights.
