Baldwin County shoppers get a jump start on holiday shopping

Turkey and stuffing may still be on the table, but many Americans are out in the streets getting a head start on stuffing their Christmas stockings.

Turkey and stuffing may still be on the table, but many Americans are out in the streets getting a head start on stuffing their Christmas stockings.

"It's been busy I've been up most of the night cooking. We had turkey early. All the family started showing up yesterday and this morning. So we got all eat and after they got started eating, I left and came here," said Maria Wrusch, who's shopping on Thanksgiving for the first time. "I just figured I'd wait and get comfy, read my book, and people started lining up, I got in line."

The young and old were out in the cold at Tanger Outlets in Foley hoping to get their hands on the Black Friday deals before anyone else can and with discounts of up to 70 and 80 percent, there's no doubt this will be good to their bottom line in the checkout line. Wrusch got there at 2 in the afternoon. She says her eyes are on a certain item.

"There's a rolling suitcase that I need to take for my birthday so I can go to California to visit my daughter," she said.

Needless to say, as the first person in line, she had no problem getting it. For those, who didn't make it out tonight like Wrusch, no worries because Tanger outlets will remain open until tomorrow night at 10 pm.
