Alabama State Troopers are investigating a weekend crash in southern Baldwin County that proved fatal to one area teen and left four others hospitalized.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hartung Road near the intersection of Roy Waters Road west of Foley.

Officials say a 17-year-old juvenile was driving south in a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. A 17-year-old passenger in the vehicle was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and another passenger were transported to South Baldwin Hospital while the remaining two were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash and no further information is available as troopers continue to investigate
