Bay Minette traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Police in Bay Minette said they stopped a speeding car Monday and ended up arresting the driver on drug charges.

Officers said Robert Gene Wallace was driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. Once he was stopped, police said they found 37 grams of meth in the vehicle. According to the officers, Wallace also had items that indicated he was involved in the distribution of meth.

Bay Minette Police said Wallace has prior convictions for drug violations and is currently on probation for prior felony drug charges. He's being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center under no bond.
