Burris Farm Market -- a destination for fresh produce in Baldwin County for many years -- announced Wednesday that it will close its Loxley location after Sunday, Aug. 12.
The business will operate exclusively from its location at The Wharf in Orange Beach thereafter, according to an announcement on Facebook.
The announcement reads: "We thank you for your patronage in Loxley through the years but due to the traffic diversion from the new Beach Express and increased competition from super markets/grocery stores our volume of business in Loxley has fallen off drastically. Also, following the BP Oil Spill business was so slow and never fully recovered."
The oil spill was in 2010.
The announcement goes on: "Loyal customers: Please visit us and find your favorite goodies in Orange Beach at The Wharf located next door to the Convention Center. We look forward to seeing you there! All the thanks!! Rick & Jeanine Stewart, Tanner Tolbert, Ethan Tolbert"
