MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- A home burglary is solved through DNA - but Mobile Police still need help in locating their suspect.
The residential burglary happening in August in the 1200 block of Mareille Drive. The half-dressed suspect can be seen getting in the home through a window.
The family's large dog is startled as he makes his way inside the home. The suspect can be seen throwing laundry at the dog and even tries to corral him with the laundry basket.
Having set off the alarm, he wasn't there long -- eventually running out the front door. Not only was he caught on camera, but police say he left behind DNA.
The sample was collected and submitted to the Department of Forensic Science. While it took some time, police say the DNA was matched to Jedarrius Cooley connecting him to the burglary.
Cooley has an active arrest warrant for Burglary 3rd. If you know where he is turn him in to Mobile Police 251-208-7211. Callers can remain anonymous.
