DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. -- It is Mardi Gras season, and the People's Mardi Gras Parade rolled on Dauphin Island on Saturday down Bienville Boulevard.

"Actually this is my first Mardi Gras so I'm very excited all of our kids are here, we're just glad to be here," said Debra Tolliver, who is a 4th grade teacher on a field trip.

The weather was picture and parade perfect as hundreds lined the route looking to catch some beads and some candy.

"It's a beautiful day for a parade and it's the People's Parade so all the community joined together to have a great day," said Lisa Darby, one of the hundreds attending today.

"I'm excited about the People's Day Parade, great weather, great atmosphere," said John Croom, who was with his daughter Ella. "A lot of folks showing up today and we're looking forward to a great time."

FOX10 News participated in the parade on Saturday. Weekend Anchor Shelby Myers, Meteorologist Adam Olivier, and Studio Ten hosts Joe Emer and Chelsey Sayasane took part in the parade.

"It's wonderful, I can't wait, too bad I don't get off work enough to go to all the parades," Darby said.
