MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - FOX10 News Investigates is asking school officials why surveillance video from a shooting at Davidson High School is not being released.

Two men were shot on the Davidson campus during a basketball game on the night of January 25. The game between the Blount and Murphy teams was played at Davidson due to construction at Murphy's gym.

Mobile Police said two men, one 20 and the other 17, were shot and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

FOX10 News asked for surveillance video from that night, but a spokesperson for the Mobile County Public School System said the video cannot be released because it's part of a student disciplinary hearing. The school system said a student has been suspended and is under recommendation for expulsion. The system said additional information cannot be released based on federal law.

Several days after the shooting, school board member Reginald Crenshaw said the system should consider placing metal detectors at school events.
