Karlan Drive scene

Emergency officials are on the scene at a Karlan Drive residence in Mobile, where three people were found dead.

A GoFundMe account has been established for a retired Air Force veteran and his wife after they were murdered by their son during a murder-suicide earlier this week.

It happened at a residence at 5004 Karlan Drive. That's off Demetropolis Road, in the Terrace Hills neighborhood.

Officers were called to a home around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and found the bodies of 85-year-old Donald Middleton, 85-year-old Helen Middleton, and their son, 60-year-old Daniel Middleton.

Authorities say, preliminary reports suggests that Donald and Helen Middleton each died from gunshot wounds while Daniel Middleton appears to have died from lacerations and a gunshot wound. Preliminary reports also suggests that Donald Middleton killed his parents first and then shot himself.

According to the GoFundMe account, Donald Middleton was a retired Air Force veteran and he and his wife are survived by their granddaughter, who is a junior at the University of South Alabama, and two great grandchildren.
