Dozens arrested in "Operation Crackdown"

The Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force arrested dozens of people Thursday in what it's calling "Operation Crackdown."

Agents had warrants for 29 people facing charges that stem from selling meth, crack, and prescription opioids in Lucedale and George County. Six more people were wanted on possession of a controlled substance charges.

The task force is made up of agents from the George County Sheriff's Office, Lucedale Police Department, and Greene County Sheriff's Office. It received assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Border Enforcement Security Task Force, and United States Marshals Service

George County Sheriff Keith Havard said the task force will continue to work to reduce the drug problems in George and Greene Counties.
