FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) - A Fairhope homeowner claims someone climbed through a bathroom window and stole two guns and gaming consoles from his home near Morphy Ave. this week.

Just one mile away, a camera caught a would-be burglar trying to lift up a garage door in a failed attempt to enter another home. In that case, the wannabe burglar tried using a grill tool, shaped like a spatula, to try prying open a back window.

No word from police if the two cases are related, but police responded to both incidents, according to the people who live in the homes. The burglary and attempted break-in both happened in broad daylight.

The homeowner who had guns and gaming consoles stolen tells FOX10 News the burglar passed up a flat screen TV and other expensive electronics - instead taking two guns and gaming consoles. The victim lives in a neighborhood off Morphy Ave.

Nobody was home in either case.
