According to the Baldwin County Sheriff's office, foul play is not suspected at this time in the death investigation of 36-year-old Jacob Guzman.

Officials say on December 4, the Gulf Shores Police Department was called to the 1500 block of West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores in reference to a death investigation. Upon arrival, patrol officers located Guzman and confirmed that he was deceased.

They say the department initiated an investigation and secured the scene before contacting the Baldwin County Major Crime Unit for assistance.

Baldwin County Major Crime Unit investigators responded to Gulf Shores, to include crime scene investigators. Investigators from both agencies, acting as a team, launched a full-scale investigation to determine the cause of Guzman’s death.

While foul play is not suspected at this time, officials say the cause and manner of death have not been identified.

Toxicology reports and other investigative techniques conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will be necessary to conclude this investigation in the coming months.
