A preliminary hearing in the case of a 16-year-old arrested following the November fatal crash on Lloyd's Lane in Mobile has been set for March 15.
Arraignment for the young defendant, Wilkinson Howes, was waived following a motion submitted by his attorney, Dennis Knizley.
Howes made bond the same day he was arrested -- $7,500 bond through a bonding company.
Keith Blackwood, a Mobile County assistant district attorney, will most likely be the prosecutor handling the case.
Howes turned himself in Feb. 2.
The Nov. 3 crash resulted in the death of Claudia Becton-Leatherwood
Police say the 38-year-old victim was leaving a driveway on Lloyds Lane when she was hit by a vehicle driven at high speed by the 16-year-old boy.
