Organizers of Christmas parades scheduled for Saturday around the Mobile area are keeping a close eye on the weather.
One city is moving the time of it's Christmas parade ahead in hopes of avoiding bad weather.
The City of Prichard's Christmas parade is scheduled to roll from Highway 45 and Interstate 65 Saturday morning.
The parade was postponed from last weekend because of bad weather.
And, this weekend, organizers are taking steps to try to avoid heavy rain expected Saturday.
George McCall, Jr. said, "We originally had it scheduled for 11:00, again for this Saturday, but, with the weather coming in, we're keeping track of the weather and we decided to move it up 30 minutes, which will start at 10:30."
The City of Satsuma also moved its Christmas parade from last Saturday to this Saturday.
And organizers are hoping to get the festivities going before the rain starts.
Kenneth Waites with Satsuma Fire-Rescue said, "We're hoping the weather holds and it doesn't rain until after the parade. The parade should start around 10 am, as sharp as we can, at 10 am in the morning. They're going to start lining up probably around 8:30."
Plenty of people who live and work in Satsuma are hoping for the same thing.
Wendy Butler with Rescue Rooster Antique Shop said, "There'll be a lot of people outside, and, so, it will probably bring business in here."
Brandie Hopkins said, "I get to see friends and people from the community. It's a lot of fun.
The City of Semmes Christmas parade is still scheduled for Saturday at 10 am.
