SARALAND, Ala. -- Infirmary Health broke ground in Saraland today with construction of a freestanding emergency department.
The 24-hour, seven-day-a-week Mobile Infirmary emergency department will provide the same full service care as a traditional emergency department and will fill the gap for emergency care in the Saraland area, according to Infirmary Health.
The 22,000-square-foot facility will have 12 examination rooms, two trauma rooms as well as an in-house laboratory and imaging department complete with MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound equipment. The new building will connect to the existing Infirmary Medical Plaza at 95 Shell St., on the northwest side of the intersection of I-65 and Alabama Highway 158.
“We are committed to providing the highest level of care and latest technology to the communities we serve,” said Mark Nix, president and CEO of Infirmary Health. “This new emergency department will provide life-saving resources to the residents of Saraland and surrounding communities.”
The project is scheduled for completion December of 2019.
