Did you know three out of four car seats are installed incorrectly? Did you also know that car crashes are the leading cause of death and injury for all children? That's why FOX10 News is committed to keeping your children safe on the road.

Parents will protect their kids at all costs. But today, there was no fee to learn how to protect your little one. Car seat technicians were at the FOX10 studio explaining the type of seat your child needs. They say it all depends on things like your child's age, size, and developmental needs.

"He's my first little one so why would hurt? It's better to be safe than sorry," one mom said.

"It was important to come out to make sure he is safe and it's corrected. If I have an accident I want to make sure he won't get hurt, at all. I wanted to make sure his seat was licensed corrected," Latisha Hunter said.

Technicians checked more than 100 car seats during Wednesday's event and all of those seats were installed improperly.

According to licensed car seat technicians, car seat safety plays a huge role in protecting your child or children on the road. With so many different seats on the market, many parents find this overwhelming. But some of that stress was handed over to professionals to solve.

"We're checking the harness straps to make sure they're in the lowest position so they'll be around the shoulders. We have to adjust them to fit the child," one technician with KidsStreet Urgent Care said.

"I learned that part that goes across the chest instead of down in the middle around his stomach needs to be above his chest. And also the base of the car seat it has to be a little bit tighter than what it was," Hunter said.
