Lifelong wish fulfilled at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park

A Georgia woman's lifelong wish was fulfilled Monday in Mobile.

Shirley Padgett, 82, had always wanted to visit the Battleship USS Alabama. Her brother, James Everett Ingram, served on the ship during WWII as a radarman. He was the Alabama's first line of defense from Japanese kamikaze pilots and incoming attacks. Padgett's trip was organized by Pruitt Nursing Home and the Second Wind Dreams Foundation.
