A Baldwin County man who delivers mail in Mobile is also a legendary DJ. During the week, he's Kennith Moore, but on the weekends and during his downtime he's DJ K-Rock. He's the DJ for one of the first female rap artist MC Lyte.

He's been doing it for the last 25 years. Drop packages and dropping beats. Your average guy during the week, but on the weekends the tables turn...literally.

You may have seen him around, especially if you live in Midtown Mobile. He delivers mail during the week.

"It's hard work. Especially in the summer time," he said.

But on the weekends he delivers the tunes. Let him tell it and he's just Kennith Moorer.

Let him tell it...

"I'm a father. I'm a hard worker," said Moorer. "I'm just the average guy."

Moorer says his jobs are like oil and water the two don't mix.

"There's no similarities, it's 2 different things," he said.

DJ K-Rock is an alter ego of sorts. When he hits the stage, he becomes a hip-hop legend with 30 years of experience scatchin' and mixin' records. He's the DJ for Rapper MC Lyte.

"It was exciting because I got a chance to travel different states in the US. Different countries and here it is a young kid, 16,17,18,19 years old in Japan," he explained.

So what brought him to Bay Minette? The Staten Island, New York native says his dad is from Bay Minette and his mother is from Atmore.

"It was something about the south that I like. I liked the southern hospitality. People would say hello, how are you doing?' New York, people look at you like you're crazy," he said.

When he's off the clock and not on the stage, K-Rock is paying it forward. He's got his own home studio.

"That's what I do. I produce music. I love music. I coach people. I mentor people in the music game. I teach how to DJ," said Moorer.

With 2 gold records and many hits , K-Rock says he's got much more to accomplish. He believes his faith is what will get him there.

"I look at my life right now and its been a beautiful journey praying believing that God is going to guide me in the right direction," K-Rock said.

Moorer is still touring with MC Lyte. He says his next performance is next month in Atlanta.
