MOBILE, Ala. -- We are expecting more developments in the case of Marco Perez, who is accused of shooting and killing Mobile Police Officer Sean Tuder.
Perez will be back in front of a judge this afternoon for a preliminary hearing.
This comes a day after a gag order was put in place for Perez's trial.
The order means that moving forward anyone involved in the trial can't publicly talk about it.
The court is concerned potential jurors in Mobile County could be prejudiced by any pre-trial publicity, making it difficult for Perez to get a fair hearing or hamper the prosecution's case.
Perez is charged with capitol murder in the shooting death of Officer Tuder.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge last month.
In addition to the capital murder, Perez is also facing property theft, receiving stolen property and federal gun charges.
Perez is sitting behind bars at Mobile County Metro Jail this morning, on no bond.
FOX10 News will be in court for today's hearing, and we'll let you know what happens.
