Man Claiming to Be FOX10 News Fugitive Files Suspect Tells Byron Day He'll Surrender to MPD Thursday

Tremichael Powell

A man claiming to be Tremichael Powell - profiled on Wednesday night's FOX10 News Fugitive Files at 5P, called me after the newscast. Mobile Police accuse Powell of making a threat to the used car business where he worked until this month, saying he would "shoot the place up". Investigators say Powell was fired after working there 4 years.

I spoke with the guy claiming to be Powell, and he told me it's all just a misunderstanding, denying he threatened anyone, saying he wasn't fired, but quit, and will turn himself into police Thursday morning. I hope he does because M-P-D takes threats of gun violence very seriously.

The man I spoke with claiming to be Powell admits he has an extensive criminal record, and has done time in prison, but wants to set the record straight so he can get on with his life.

But just in case he changes his mind, here's Powell's description: he's 42 years old, is 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds. He's still believed to be in the Mobile area, and investigators-still going on the alleged threat-consider Powell armed and dangerous.

If you have seen Powell, or know where he is, contact the FOX10 News Fugitive Files-Crime Stoppers Hotline at 251-208-7211. Remember: you don't have to leave your name.
