MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The man who killed a woman when he crashed into her car while he was running from police has been found guilty of murder.

Charles Dennis was running from Prichard Police in 2015 when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a car driven by Anteesha Banks. The impact killed the 20-year-old mother and injured her six-month-old daughter who was also in the car.

Dennis was originally scheduled to go on trial in 2017, but investigators said he skipped his court dates and spent more than a year on the run. He was finally captured in April 2019.

A Mobile County jury returned the guilty verdict on January 10, 2019.
