DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. -- Mardi Gras season is kicking off this weekend, when the Krewe de la Dauphine rolls Saturday on Dauphin Island.

Revelers will line the streets to catch the throws.

The parade starts at 1 p.m.

Krewe de la Dauphine was formed in 1992.

The revelry will continue on Dauphin Island a week later, on Saturday, Feb. 9, with the People's Mardi Gras Parade.

The parading action starts in downtown Mobile on Friday, Feb. 15, with the Conjde Cavaliers, and will continue right through Fat Tuesday, March 5, concluding with the Order of Myths that night.
