THEODORE, Ala. (WALA) -- Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units responded to an apartment building fire Friday morning in Theodore.

The call came in just after 5 a.m., with firefighters responding to Green Meadows Apartments, at 6901 Cary Hamilton Boulevard.

That's off Bellingrath Road.

Upon their arrival on scene, crews confirmed heavy flames and smoke from Building I in the complex. A second alarm was called.

MFRD tells FOX10 News there are no injuries related to the fire. All residents were able to safely evacuate prior to the arrival of firefighters, according to the fire department.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames that collapsed the roof of the left end of the building. MFRD Public Information Officer Steven Millhouse said additional apartment units suffered smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
