MOBILE, Ala. -- Interstate 65 Northbound traffic was stopped for a time at midday Tuesday after power lines were down across the roadway, between Government Boulevard and Airport Boulevard.

The lines appeared to be down due to a traffic accident. Earlier, there was an overturned vehicle on I-65 North near Airport.

Traffic on the adjacent service road also was affected.

Subsequently, a large amount of traffic signals were out in the area of Government Boulevard at I-65, due to downed lines.

Motorists were advised to use caution and treat intersections with non-functioning signals as four-way stops.

Alabama Power told FOX10 News the utility expected to have service restored to the area by 1 p.m.
