MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- A Mobile man pleaded guilty to a grisly murder that happened in October 2016.

The Mobile County District Attorney's Office said Jesse Lane shot and killed Lumumba Green, 26, then drove his body to Alabama Village where it was found in a car that was set on fire. Investigators had to use dental records to identify Green.

Lane was captured ten months after the murder and was released on bond two weeks after the arrest.

While he was out on bond, the Mobile County Sheriff's Office arrested Lane for a string of car burglaries. Investigators said Lane was the ringleader of a group of criminals who broke into vehicles around Christmas 2017 and stole several guns.

Lane was sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing Green.
