Police chase ends in Prichard

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- A police chase that started in Mobile ended in Prichard Thursday evening.

Officers from the Mobile Police Department chased a red Nissan sedan northbound on I-65 at speeds reaching 100 mph.

The suspects turned off of the interstate in Prichard and bailed out of the vehicle near the corner of Dunlap Circle and Wilson Avenue around 5:45 p.m.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Jeremy Jackson, 25-year-old Joseph Wilburn and 24-year-old Keaedrick Williams. 

"According to Mobile police, at approximately 5:14 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle that was driving recklessly.

They say attempting to stop the vehicle, the officer turned on his blue lights and sirens however, the driver refused to stop, getting onto the interstate heading eastbound on I-10 toward I-65 northbound at a high rate of speed. 

The pursuit continued into Prichard’s jurisdiction. As the vehicle approached Wilson Ave. the vehicle wheels locked up and the driver lost control coming to a rest near Dunlap Circle. All three occupants bailed from the vehicle but they were soon apprehended. Officers found analog of marijuana in the vehicle."

At least three people were taken into police custody at the scene.
