UPDATE: A woman is in custody Wednesday morning for allegedly abandoning a child at a local store. Police say 41-year-old Takiasha Montgomery left a 3-year-old child at the Walmart on the I-65 service road Tuesday night. Witnesses say the child was found wandering in the parking lot.



MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- Mobile Police are searching for a woman accused of leaving a three-year-old child at Walmart.

Officers said Takiasha Montgomery, 41, arrived at the store on the East I-65 Service Road around 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19.

Police said she walked out of Walmart around 6:09 p.m. and left the child in the arcade at Walmart. Investigators said she drove off in a black Lexus a few minutes later.

Around 6:13 p.m., police said two adults found the child in the Walmart parking lot after he wandered out of the store. He was taken back inside and left with store employees.
