UPDATE: Mobile Police have identified the teenager killed in a crash Tuesday on Interstate 10. Investigators said Brittany Cleaver, 19, was killed when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole.
Investigators said Cleaver was driving west in the far right lane at a high rate of speed when she attempted to pass other vehicles and lost control of her own. ORIGINAL STORY: Mobile Police say one person is dead after a serious accident on Interstate 10 late Tuesday morning.
Mobile Fire-Rescue units and other first responders were working around 11 a.m. to free the trapped motorist from inside a vehicle that struck a light pole on westbound I-10 between the I-65 interchange and Rangeline Road.
Traffic was still flowing in two of the westbound lanes but was slowed approaching the accident scene.
MFRD advised motorists via Twitter to avoid the area.
