John Mason celebrated his 100th birthday with his friends, family, and a few special guest.

John was a graduate of Murphy High School--class of 1937.

Where he was a four sport letterman.

"There was never a time of the year when I wasn’t doing something. Football, baseball, basketball, track, and softball,” said John Mason, Murphy graduate class of 1937.

A few years after high school he joined the United States Air Force where he became a glider pilot and fought in World War II.

No matter where life took John, he always had his hometown on his mind.

"I love mobile,” said Mason.

His panther spirit still shines to this day.

So it only made sense that on his 100th birthday the Murphy spirit came to him.
