MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- A police chase in West Mobile ended with a crash Tuesday evening.
Mobile Police said officers attempted to stop a Honda Accord that was on the road without a license plate. Investigators said the driver refused to stop and started fleeing from officers in the area of Airport Boulevard and Dawes Road.
The chase ended when the Honda Accord crashed into another vehicle on Schillinger Road near Cottage Hill Road.
"We got here for the aftermath. When we had come we noticed that hte back left side of that car had been clipped. So at some part during the chase, they did say it was a chase., they just clipped that and went flipping into the ditch," said Chris Colburn, a bystander.
A witness at the scene told FOX10 News that the suspect's vehicle rolled over twice after the impact. The witness said the driver then jumped out of the car and took off running but the man was caught by officers.
Along with the driver, a woman and four-year-old child were also in the Accord. Police said the child was not in a car sear.
The mother and child were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver was also taken to have his injuries checked.
Police have not released the names of those involved.
