Prichard Police on Saturday arrested Montreal Standberry and charged him with murder in Prichard's first homicide of 2018.
Police said they received intelligence that 20-year-old Standberry was inside a residence in the Trinity Gardens community, and they arrested him there.
Standberry was transported to Mobile County Metro Jail Saturday evening for booking.
Police said there are no other suspect in the case, but the investigation is ongoing.
The murder happened on Thursday evening on South Leeds Avenue. Theron Bennekin Jr., 21, was shot and killed by Standberry, police said.
Investigators told FOX10 News that Bennekin was gunned down in the middle of the street.
Police believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.
