MOBILE, Ala. -- On Saturday the Mobile Police Department gave the following update on the shooting Friday night at Davidson High School, where police say two people were wounded and that suspect or suspects fled the scene and remain at large.
The incident happened as teams from Blount and Murphy high schools played a basketball game at the Davidson gym.
The MPD Saturday update reads:
"On Friday, January 25, at approximately 9 p.m. police responded to Davidson High School located at 3900 Pleasant Valley Road in reference to shots fired call. Upon arrival, police located two male victims, a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old male. Both victim had been shot and injuries were non-life threatening. Both victims were transported to the hospital. The suspect(s) fled the scene and is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing."
ORIGINAL FRIDAY NIGHT STORY:
Mobile Police units are on the scene of a shooting at Davidson High School. We're told the shooting occurred following a basketball game between Murphy and Blount High Schools.
“All I’ve been able to gather is two victims of unknown ages with gunshot wounds. Unknown extent of injuries," said Mobile Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer Steven Millhouse.
Corporal LeDerrick Dubose with Mobile Police said the victims are ages 17 and 20 and both have non life-threatening injuries.
