RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD/CNN) - A thoughtful 7-year-old boy in North Carolina decided to throw a mini prom for his nanny whose high school prom was cancelled over COVID-19 concerns.

Curtis Rogers, a soon-to-be second grader from Raleigh, created the backyard prom for his nanny, Rachel Chapman. He planned it all by himself and even asked her to attend with a special "promposal."

An adorable photo shows him holding a sign that read: "Mini prom is not today, but will you join me on Monday."

Two days later, Chapman and Rogers met up for the pint-sized bash. He wore a bow-tie to match her dress and also used a pool noodle to make sure they were practicing social distancing and staying six feet apart.

"He was very excited and wanted to make sure everything was just right," said Rogers' mom, Elissa. "It was really cute. He was really excited for it to start and make sure he was ready to impress her."

Other cute details included eating their favorite after-school snack -- peanut butter and apples --  and dancing to Chapman's favorite songs.

"He had all my favorite foods and everything," Chapman said. "I could tell he put a lot of thought into it."

Rogers' mom also spoke highly of Chapman.

"They're awesome together," the mom said. "They have tons of fun. She's really become a special part of our family. We love her. She's awesome."
