MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -- USA Children's & Women's hospital had some help decking the halls Tuesday night.

FOX 10's Lenise Ligon helped them get into the Christmas spirit hosting the hospital's 8th Annual "Lights of Love" program.

Santa arriving by ambulance as hundreds waited for him to take the stage with his special helper to light up the 45 foot tree on the hospital's lawn.

The hospital says they hope to not only make the community, their staff, but especially the people staying at Children's & Women's feel the love this Christmas.

"Spending the holidays or any major event in the hospital is a difficult thing for patients and their families. So anything we can do to help make it a normal or even a happy time we are going to do our best to do. And this is one opportunity to do that," explained Chris Jett, Hospital Administrator.

Choirs from local high schools on both sides of the bay helped entertain with holiday favorites.
