Mary Robinson at MPD Headquarters

Mary Robinson is pictured outside MPD Headquarters as officers ready to transport her to Mobile County Metro Jail.

A man is dead and a woman was sent to Mobile County Metro Jail Saturday night, after a deadly shooting earlier in the day in the area of Navco Road and McVay Drive North.

John Law, 20, was shot and killed by 28-year-old Mary Robinson, according to Mobile Police.

Mobile Police issued the following on Saturday evening:

"On Saturday, August 25, 2018 at approximately 1:45 p.m. Police responded to the area of Navco Road and McVay Drive North in reference to one shot. Upon arrival a 20-year-old-male was found shot inside the back seat of a vehicle.

"The victim was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. During the investigation police located and arrested 28 year old Mary Robinson.

"Mary Robinson located the vehicle the victim was in at Navco Road and McVay Drive and fired one shot at the vehicle. The bullet entered the back of the vehicle and struck the victim which resulted in his death."

The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

One woman who did not want to be identified told FOX10 News, "We’ve got a lot of people that live in this area with small children and a lot of them play out in the street, ride their bikes and stuff, and a stray bullet can go anywhere and hit anyone.

Police blocked off McVay Drive for more than hour while detectives searched for evidence. Neighbors said what happened is surprising.

"We've lived here over 30 years and we really haven’t had any kind of problems like this so hopefully this is something that will make people sit up and take a notice too," a neighbor said.
