STATESBORO, Ga. -- The South Alabama Jaguars came up short against the Georgia Southern Eagles in a road game Saturday.

The final score was Eagles 48, Jaguars 13.

For the season so far, that puts the Jags record down to a single win and five loses.

South Alabama's successful scoring drives in the game in Statesboro put six points on the board in the second quarter and 13 points in the final quarter. But Georgia Southern outscored South every quarter of play.

The Eagles improved to 4-1 on the season.

South Alabama returns home to host Alabama State next week in Mobile at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
