MOBILE, Ala. -- The South Alabama Jaguars football team won only its second game of the season Saturday night, but it was a big victory.

The Jags outpaced the Alabama State Hornets in a lopsided 45-7 victory at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The Hornets scored their only touchdown in the second quarter, but the Jaguars put points on the board in every quarter of play.

For the season so far, the Jags are 2-5. The Hornets fell to 2-4.

South Alabama next plays Troy on Oct. 23.
