Young Champions: Local youth baseball players learn from the pros

The Mobile BayBears are well into their season.

Last week the players took a short break from practicing to give back to our local young champions.

"I learned how to hit the ball good and how to ground the ball more properly,” said Ty Mabrey, a youth baseball player.

Of course, they had fun in the process.

"To have fun and learn more about baseball,” said Noah Stone, a youth baseball player.

Aside from having fun and learning more about baseball, the young champions took home some important advice.

"I love baseball because catching the ball and throwing the ball is so much fun and so is winning but when you lose you learn from your mistakes,” said Jake Flannigan, a youth baseball player.

"I love making friends and learning new things,” said Collin McFadden, a youth baseball player.

"When you work together and if you are losing you can get back up,” said Sam Solano, a youth baseball player.

"I Love baseball because everything is fun about it and if you lose you can learn from your mistakes and baseball is my favorite sport,” said Gabriel Thomas, a youth baseball player.
