Dr. E. Gaylon McCollough joined us on Studio10 to talk about his new book "Victory in the Game of Life".

Dr. McCollough has a unique perspective as a former Crimson Tide star under Coach Paul Bear Bryant, a Surgeon, an author of numerous books and so much more.

Dr. McCollough also was recently awarded the "Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athelete Award".  Here's more:

The “Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athlete Award” is not just any award. It is viewed by those familiar with the history of the man in whose honor it is named as the epitome of awards presented by the coach’s alma mater.

As a grateful 2017 Bryant Award recipient, Dr. E. Gaylon McCollough addresses each of the criteria considered by the University of Alabama’s National Alumni Association in the selection process. The list of recipients comprises a virtual Who’s Who in U. of A. Athletics, as well as those who achieved success in various fields of endeavor. Some of whom succeeded, in spite of physical challenges and/or those imposed upon society.

Readers will come away with a broader understanding of how: “character, contributions to society, professional achievement and service to fellowman” not only lead to championship performances in athletics; but in The Game of Life.

Sports enthusiasts will come to understand how Coach Nick Saban’s “Process” is a modern-day reflection of Coach Bryant’s “Winning Theory and Methodology”. Why these two legends are tied for the most National Champions in NCAA history. Entrepreneurs, administrators and educators are given access to a methodology by which to rise above the forces of Mediocrity.

About Dr. McCollough’s memoirs and musings, a former White House correspondent wrote: “You won’t find many books that range from Elvis (Presley) to Helen Keller to Bear Bryant to Sir Isaac Newton and more. And you won’t find many that can change your life. This one could” .

You can pick up your copy of the book at various locations; including PAge & Palette in Fairhope.
