Heart Disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. However, it's preventable and controllable in many cases.

The American Heart Association is hosting the "Go Red for Women Luncheon" on February 1 at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel.

The event begins with health screenings from 10am-11:30am. Followed by the program from 11:30am-1pm.

This years event Chair is Fox10's own Lenise Ligon. She joined us on Studio10 along with Evan Duffy from the American Heart Association and Stephanie Grosz with RGG Cardiology to talk about this fun and important event.

Tickets are on sale now. Sponsors, volunteers and vendors are also needed.
