Stroll and shop for the holidays in the crisp fall weather during November's LODA Artwalk! Visit downtown's galleries and venues for art exhibitions and live performances, stop by Cathedral Square for live music, and support our local LoDa Night Market Vendors in Bienville Square. As always, this event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

Head over to Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street (next to the Saenger Theatre) to see the Mobile Arts Council’s November exhibitions! This month, the gallery will feature works by Paul Gray, Sahar K Alford, and the Mississippi Art Colony.

Artist Sahar Alford presents “Splash,” a series of realistic oil paintings that capture objects and their refraction in liquids. She examines items in mid-movement through liquids (such as water, milk, and oil) and recreates them in painstaking detail. “Splash” combines Sahar’s love of art and physics together in her newest painting series.

In addition to “Splash,” Paul Gray exhibits a collection of his nature photography, titled “God’s World as I See It.” Each image entails different technical, artistic, and emotional considerations. Using light patterns, form, and personal perception, Paul’s goal is to capture God’s beauty and the magic he sees. The Mississippi Art Colony will also feature their Fall Traveling Show, selected by guest artist Stan Kurth. The exhibition will feature paintings, mixed-media works, and more.

Gallery hours at Room 1927 are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays – Fridays. The exhibitions will hang between November 5th – 28th, with a special reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 8th, LoDa ArtWalk night.
