This Sunday’s “Perspectives with Eric Reynolds”, on May 12, 2019, explores the new health craze over CBD oil. You see it in all the health stores. It is not federally regulated, and many have questions concerning the origin of CBD oil, which comes from the hemp plant. Hemp is in the same biological family as marijuana. Many people use CBD oil for chronic pain, anxiety and even insomnia. Eric talks to health food experts and nutritionists about their take on the use of CBD oil and if all the health claims are valid.
The other issue Eric explores is the burgeoning industry of hemp farming. Recently, there was a meeting in Spanish Fort where Baldwin County farmers learned of the financial benefits of hemp farming as a cash crop. Hemp is useful in the fields of heavy industry, textiles and chemistry in addition to food and cosmetics. Is hemp farming the new thing? Eric talks to an Alabama extension agent and a future hemp farmer to get their ideas on this new industry in Alabama.
"Perspectives" explores a different topic each week, diving deeper into issues that affect our community. Don't miss "Perspectives" with Eric Reynolds Sundays at 7:30am on Fox 10.
