Sarah Bumgarner joined us from Lifeline Counseling Services to talk about Naitonal 2-1-1 day. The service is being celebrated on February 11th. It provides access to the FREE information and referral database of health and human services available to ALL are residents. When faced with the incidentals of life... people are encouraged to stay calm and call 2-1-1.

Lifelines Counseling Services has a comprehensive database of resources in the area for all type of needs in the Southwest Alabama community. By partnering with the United Way of Southwest Alabama, information about health & human services is available to residents in 8 counties. Information and referrals is provided to residents about volunteer opportunities, utility assistance, food pantries, homeless shelters, rent payment assistance, family support centers, senior citizens help, tax prep, childcare, veteran services and disaster assistance. In 2018, call specialists answered 9,197 calls.
