MPD arrests third suspect in connection to the shooting of Cailee Knight
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police said they have arrested a third person in connection to the shooting death of 9-year-old Cailee Knight.
Police said Darius Lucky Jr., 18, has been arrested and charged with felony murder.
Lucky was taken into custody during a traffic stop. Police said they don’t know what role lucky junior played in Cailee’s murder but they’re glad he’s off the streets.
Cpl. Katrina Frazier, MPD’s spokesperson, had a warning message for anyone else who might be involved in this senseless act of gun violence.
“If you are involved in this incident or you know of individuals that are involved, we will make sure that you are brought to justice. Our community will not tolerate this,” she said. “This baby should have been with her family and our community is bigger than this. And we as Mobilians will stand together as one and bring this type of behavior to an end.”
The other two suspects, 22-year-old Ariel Curry and 19-year-old Tyrone Williams, were both arrested on Thursday and are held in the Mobile County Metro Jail without bond.
Lucky has a bond hearing scheduled for Monday morning.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
