PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - A judge in Escambia County sentenced a man to a minimum of 40 years in a Florida state prison for killing a woman in a domestic dispute in 2022, announced the prosecutors for Florida’s First Judicial District on Thursday.
Circuit Judge Coleman Robinson handed the sentence to Frank Wilson after a jury on Wednesday found Wilson guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Sonja Burch.
Authorities said the Wilson and Burch were living as a couple at a home in McDavid, Fla., when they got into a domestic dispute on March 22, 2022. Burch died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies recovered a .410 shotgun from Wilson’s room.
